Those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile now know that I used to be an annual Disney Parks goer. I recently went to Walt Disney World for the first time in four years, and although it doesn’t seem possible after more than 10 trips to the resort, I found lots of new things to photograph. In this post, I’ll share photos I took at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Officer Peabody is one of the Citizens of Hollywood, who can be seen entertaining folks along Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards.
Oscar Meyer Weiner, a movie director, is another Citizen of Hollywood.
Woody welcomes guest to the brand new Toy Story Land.
I didn’t get a chance to ride the new Slinky Dog Dash ride, but at least I got a photo of it zooming past.
I got to ride the new Alien Swirling Saucers ride, but honestly, I was underwhelmed.
Meeting characters never gets old! Luckily the line to meet Woody and Jessie wasn’t too long.

About once every 15 minutes or so, the stormtroopers com marching down the street. Now I know there are a lot of Star Wars fans out there, but I personally feel that this detracts from the 1940s Hollywood ambiance that Disney has going in this park.

Inside the ride vehicle, guests see this site before they are carried to the front of the building for a big plunge.

Over at One Man’s Dream, a tribute to Walt Disney and his work, I photographed this miniature diorama of “Granny’s Cabin,” built by Walt himself.
I enjoyed a delicious meal at the Hollywood Brown Derby, which is now my new favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World.
The skies sometimes look ominous in Florida, but thankfully, it didn’t rain.
I caught Donald on my way out of the park!
Returning in the evening, the sky was gorgeous.

This area by the ABC Commissary was nice and quiet at night.
Well, as I mentioned, I’m not a big Star Wars fan, but who can turn down an opportunity to meet Chewbacca?
I had to capture the Brown Derby at night. If you ever have a chance to eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby, take it! The ambiance is great and the food is delicious. It’s one of the more expensive restaurants in the Disney Parks, but in reality it’s cheaper than the pricy character meals.
I happened upon an up close spot for Disney Movie Magic, a projection show on Grauman’s Chinese Theater, honoring Disney live action films.
A fisheye lens allowed me to capture a lot of the projection area despite being so close.
After the show was Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, a fireworks and projection show.
Throughout the show there are many different colors and effects to take in.
I may not be a big Star Wars fan, but fireworks are one of my favorite things to photograph!
