December 2021 in Saratoga

Now that December is about to come to a close, let’s take a look back at this past month with photos I’ve taken in and around my hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Buildings on Broadway ready for Christmas.

Santa’s Workshop is ready for visitors!

I found this box of letters to Santa outside the Wine Bar.

These letters to Santa were located in the window display of the famous G. Willikers toy store.

A clock adorned with a Christmas garland.

A Christmas tree sits atop the second floor balcony of the Adelphi Hotel.

The Great Hall at The Grove looks beautiful with its two Christmas trees and other holiday decor.

Here’s another photo of the Great Room that I captured with my fisheye lens.

A pine tree covered in fresh snow after a light snowfall in Saratoga.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Saratoga post without some photos of those lovable horses at Old Friends at Cabin Creek in Greenfield where I volunteer!

Be Bullish, one of three horses at the farm to have won over $1 million. Click here to order a print of this photo (I donate my profit to the farm).

JoAnn Pepper feeds Bull some alfalfa.

Red Down South and Zippy Chippy await some tasty treats. Click here to order a print of this photo.

Zippy’s biggest supporter, Rosanne, Frieri, gives the senior thoroughbred of the farm some shredded carrots.

Commentator pays tribute to his late pal Cosmonaut, who previously occupied his paddock, and whose name plate can still be seen next to Tator’s on the fence.

The Christmas stockings for each of the boys have been hung out! I know the boys have all been good this year!

I made this video in early December at the farm.

Last year the Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association started a tradition of Santa coming to visit each neighborhood of Saratoga on a fire truck. With Covid making the traditional visit on Santa’s lap less feasible, this tradition allows the children (and children at heart!) of the city to experience Santa in a new and unique way. I captured some photos of this event last year, and once again this year I photographed him making his way through the east side of town.

Here comes Santa’s cavalcade!

A family waves to me from a fire truck.

Santa and one of his elves approach in the fire truck.

Hi Santa!

A couple of elves in the cavalcade of vehicles wave to me as they pass by.

That’s all I’ve got for ya! Happy New Year everyone!
