It’s been a few years since I’ve put together a holiday gift guide, and since I’ve really expanded my brand, both with my photography and with my illustrations, I decided this year it was time to make another one. In this post, I’ll share a variety of products I offer that make great holiday gifts, and some of them even support thoroughbred retirement! My profit from the sale of products depicting residents of Old Friends at Cabin Creek thoroughbred retirement farm in Greenfield, NY (where, as you may be aware, I volunteer) is donated to the farm.
Something for the Wall
A piece of artwork for the wall makes a great gift. I offer prints of photographs I have taken all over the world (organized into galleries by region) as well as digital illustrations I have made, many of which incorporate horses. If you’re local to Saratoga Springs, NY, you can even pick up a small print of one of my Saratoga or equine illustrations at Dark Horse Mercantile on Broadway! Featured above are (clockwise from top left): a gallery wall comprised of my photos, some of my artwork for sale at Dark Horse, a print of Red Down South and the late Zippy Chippy of Old Friends at Cabin Creek (click here to purchase), and an illustration featuring three residents of Old Friends at Cabin Creek (click here to purchase).
If you’re on a budget, I offer digital downloads on my Etsy site. For a small fee, you are given access to a high resolution digital file that you can print unlimited times using your own printer.
Something Unique
If you’re looking for something unique for a friend, family member, or even a client, a commissioned illustration is a great option. You send me one or more reference photos (which you have permission to use), and I create a digital illustration for you (with several variations). Email me if you are interested in having me make a commissioned piece of artwork for you.
Something for the Home or Office
I’ve been offering up products featuring my photos in my Zazzle shop and products featuring my illustrations in my Society6 shop. Featured above are (clockwise from top left): a pillow with a design that incorporates a photo I took on Cape Cod, a tote bag featuring an illustration I made of the Grand Canyon, a laptop case with a design that incorporates a photo I took in Paris, and a travel mug featuring an illustration I made of the residents of Old Friends at Cabin Creek.
Something to Stay Organized
This year, I have put out four calendars featuring photos and illustrations. Shown above are (clockwise from top left): my Saratoga Springs calendar; featuring twelve photos of my beloved hometown, my North American Landscapes calendar, featuring twelve photos I’ve taken all over the US and Canada; the Old Friends at Cabin Creek calendar, which I collaborated on with fellow photographer Connie Bush; and my Thoroughbred Silhouettes calendar, featuring twelve illustrations of thoroughbreds at all stages of life, all based on my own photos. The Old Friends at Cabin Creek calendar will be available at the farm in Greenfield starting at the end of this month, or you can purchase one online by contacting the farm. Follow Old Friends at Cabin Creek on Facebook to see details about the calendar when it becomes available.
Something for the Mailbox
Don’t forget to stock up on holiday cards! I offer seven different designs in my Zazzle shop, all featuring my original photos. Shown above are four of them. Click here to see all the designs.
