The 2022 Holiday Season in Saratoga

Broadway lit up for the holidays.

My hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY has a lot to offer in the month of December. In this post I’ll share some favorite photos I took this year during the holiday season.

City Hall looks festive with its lights and wreaths.

The Adirondack Trust Co. always looks festive with its giant wreath.

A former student of mine poses in a store window.

Families gather in front of Santa’s Cottage in anticipation of his arrival.

Women dressed up for the Streetwalk pose for the camera.

Santa plays a tune on the saxophone.

Streetwalk goers enjoy a car-free Broadway.

A horse drawn carriage brings headline performer Madison VanDenburg to the stage.

A look down Caroline Street at night.

A street performer twirls batons while a couple dressed in Victorian attire looks on.

The couple in Victorian attire walks down Broadway.

Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves prepare to light the Christmas tree on Broadway.

The tree is lit!

Santa meets with children in the cottage.

The couple dressed in Victorian attire from my earlier photos poses for a photo.

Another view of Caroline Street.

Wreaths are hung by the Spirit of Life Statue in Congress Park.

I recently took my Downtown Saratoga illustration and dressed it up for Christmas! I love taking older illustrations and putting a new twist on them.

I took this with my phone one night, very spur of the moment. Of course I wished I had my gear with me, but the phone holds up pretty well when called upon.

I took an earlier illustration I made of the grandstand at the track and added Christmas lights and Santa and his sleigh.

Fran enjoys the Christmas tree as “Meet Me in St. Louis” plays in the background.

I hope everyone who celebrates had an enjoyable Christmas holiday, and I wish you all a happy new year!
