Hometown Pride Series: Looking Back at June 2021 in the Saratoga Area

I had intended to get this post out sooner, but better late than never!  I previously blogged about Spring 2021 in the Saratoga Area, but since then, during the month of June, I took a large number of photos in my hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY.  Here’s a look back at what I captured:

I took this photo with my phone on the east side of Saratoga.

This is another iPhone photo, taken inside the barn at Old Friends at Cabin Creek in Greenfield, where I volunteer.

In this photo you can see Mr. Cowboy in real life off in the distance as well as the wooden cut out of him on the barn!  Click here to order a print of this photo.  I donate 100% of my profits from print sales of the horses of Cabin Creek back to the farm.

Here’s a photo I took of the sign outside the entrance.  I used Photoshop’s new depth blur feature to simulate a shallow depth of field.

The woods outside the school where I teach is where many classes and study halls were held during the month of June.  This is another photo I put through Photoshop’s depth blur.  Click here to view more photos from the school year on my French teacher blog.

This is the start of the Skidmore College North Woods trail, which leads to North Broadway.
On June 21, we had a lightning storm in Saratoga.  I captured this photo from my living room window.  Click here to order a print of this photo.

A retiring colleague gave me this carnation on the last day of school.

Zoe the therapy dog visits classrooms in our school to bring cheer to staff and students!

The occasion for this artful photo of Orangina and French snacks was a little outdoor gathering I had for my year-long virtual students.  It’s hard to believe I went a whole school year without ever meeting some of my students!

Fran, as always, was looking really cute during the month of June!

I think she should go into modeling!

Little baby “Bluestreak” was discovered outside our school and was transported to a local facility for urgent care.  Because I certainly don’t bring a telephoto lens to school, Photoshop’s Super Zoom feature helped me crop the photo significantly without losing any resolution.

I captured this photo of an American flag while wandering around downtown.

This design was painted on the window of the Starbucks on Broadway.

These beautiful flowers are located outside the Adelphi on Broadway.

More beautiful flowers on Broadway!

I captured this car zooming down Broadway while waiting to cross the stress.

Another view of Broadway.

In this photo, my retiring colleague Lisa dances with her beautiful granddaughter at our building retirement party at the Saratoga VFW Hall.

Here’s Lisa’s beautiful granddaughter!

That smile!

I captured these flags outside the VFW Hall.

A visit to 550 Waterfront on Fish Creek for lunch with friends prompted me to take some photos.

It was a slightly overcast but pleasant day.

I loved the sky in this photo.  Click here to order a print of this photo.

Here is a photo of the 500 Waterfront building.  It’s got a modern look.

A view of the outdoor dining area.

Bonus:  Here are some photos from my spread in the summer issue of Saratoga Living Magazine!

I also created an illustration for Saratoga Living’s sister magazine, Capital Region Living!
