This past winter I made two visits to Irish Hill Century Farm in Stillwater, NY. In this post I will share some photos I took of the mares and foals and also of a couple of the stallions. Click here to view my previous post about the farm.

This little guy has a special connection to Old Friends at Cabin Creek where I volunteer. You see, his damsire is Cosmonaut, one of our beloved former residents. He is by Aloha West and out of the Cosmonaut mare Goodbye Brockley. He is his dam’s first foal.

Multiple Grade I winner Mind Control, who stood at Rockridge Stud in Hudson, NY last year, is at Irish Hill and Dutchess Views Stallions for this season.
Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown is perhaps the best known New York stallion.

These next photos were actually taken the day after the spring solstice, but it still looked and felt very much like winter.
