I’m back from visiting with family on Cape Cod for Thanksgiving. While Thanksgiving is primarily a time to enjoy good food and good company, I naturally took a few photos while I was there as well.
The Bourne Bridge is one of two steel bridges that cross the Cape Cod canal.
My poor family doesn’t particularly like it when I stop to take photos before we eat.

We visited the North Truro Air Force base, which, if you can’t tell from the photos, is no longer in use. It is, however, open for the public to explore, although entry to the buildings is prohibited due to safety concerns. Any photos I got were through the windows. The site is currently owned by the National Park Service and is also the site of the Highlands Center. Above is a peek inside the barracks.

After visiting the Air Force Base, we headed to Highland Light, also in Truro.

My family loves to do crafts. This little pine cone elf came from a craft on Lia Griffith‘s website.
The Cape Cod National Seashore’s Salt Pond Visitor Center is a frequent stop for my family. The National Park Service gift shops are currently stocked with items commemorating its centennial next year.
Although we didn’t pick up a tree here, the scent of all the wreathes, swags, and trees for sale at St. Aubin’s in Eastham, along with the sounds of the Christmas music piped in, really helped usher in the holiday season!
