A Tour of Sugar Plum Farm

Earlier this month the volunteers at Old Friends at Cabin Creek in Greenfield, NY were offered a tour of Sugar Plum Farm, a thoroughbred breeding farm in Saratoga Springs. I never turn down an opportunity to meet and photograph horses, so I was delighted to attend. In this post I will share some of my favorites.

Here’s another eye photo. This is the eye of Sugar Plum Girl, the namesake of the farm. When I found out she was by Lemon Drop Kid I instantly fell in love, as one of our beloved boys at Cabin Creek, Cosmonaut, who we lost last fall, was also by Lemon Drop Kid.

I made an illustration out of this group of mares. Which do you like better, the photo or the illustration?
