On Saturday August 19, thoroughbred and harness racing worlds collided as jockey Flavien Prat and driver Brett Beckwith faced off in a charity match race at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. Each driver chose a charity (Prat chose BCCA’s Faith House and Beckwith chose Franklin Community Center) to benefit from the event, and $12,000 was raised in total. In this post I will share some photos I took that evening of both regular races and the match race.
Track photographer Jessica Hallett captures the action.
Flavien Prat drove Foxe Ella in the match race.
Brett Beckwith drove Cross Creek Samara.
Beckwith emerged victorious in the race.
After the race, connections of both horses stood in the winner’s circle (actually, it was out on the track because there were so many people and horses) for a photo.
I combined my photos into a time lapse video of the event. Email subscribers, click here to watch the video.
