This is my sixth installment in a series where I’m sharing my best photos of the decade.  Be sure to check out my first installment here, featuring photos I took in and around my hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY, my second installment here, featuring my best equine photos of the decade, my third installment here, featuring best photos taken at Disney Parks and Resorts in the last decade, my fourth installment here, featuring photos of the Eastern United States, and my fifth installment here, featuring photos taken in the Western United States.  In this post I will share my best photos from the past decade taken outside the United States.

Montréal Vista from Mont-Royal:  May 22, 2010
A view of Montréal from Parc Mont-Royal.

The Streets of Old Québec:  August 14, 2011
I love the cutouts hanging in the street!

Paris la nuit:  April 7, 2012
I took this photo from a bateau mouche.

Chez Monet:  April 9, 2012
A photo I took at Monet’s residence in Giverny, France.

Overcast Day at Claude Monet’s Garden:  April 9, 2012
Another photo I took in Giverny.

Cabaret de la Bohème:  April 9, 2012
There are some major white balance issues that made this photo very difficult to work with, but with lots of masking and Photoshop trickery, I was able to fix it.

A Rainbow Over Moraine Lake:  July 14, 2015
Moraine Lake is the reason I first became intrigued with going to Banff National Park, and it didn’t disappoint when I went to visit.  Shortly after arriving, a rainbow decided to shine over the mountains.

Lake Louise So Small:  July 14, 2015
Lake Louise and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise are dwarfed by the mountains, as seen from the Lake Louise Gondola.

Lake Louise at Night:  July 15, 2015
Lake Louise at night has the nice side effect of being illuminated by the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.  I wasn’t really trying to get the milky way in this shot, but it makes a nice little detail (on the left).

What’s He Thinking About?:  July 16, 2015
A grizzly bear appears to be pondering life near the town of Banff, AB.

Sunset at Lac Beauvert:  July 23, 2018
In 2018, I had the opportunity to explore Jasper National Park in Canada, where this beautiful lake, known as Lac Beauvert, can be found.

Lake Louise Boat House Through the Trees:  July 25, 2018
A pleasant walk around Lake Louise in Alberta yielded this photo of the boat house through the trees.

Lake Louise in the Evening:  July 25, 2018
Lake Louise just after sunset on a cool summer evening.

Canoes at Moraine Lake:  July 26, 2018
I was disappointed with the amount of people that showed up for sunrise at Moraine Lake the morning I took this photo.  When I went there in 2015 there were maybe a dozen other people there at the top of the rock pile where everybody goes to take photos.  After the sun came up, I headed down to the boat house where there were a lot fewer people and took this photo, my favorite.

Canoeing on Lake Louise:  July 26, 2018
A trip to Lake Louise is not complete without a canoe ride!

Château Frontenac at Sunrise:  March 1, 2019
The beautiful Château Frontenac at sunrise, photographed from the Hilton Québec.

The Frozen Streets of Québec at Night:  March 1, 2019
A look down one of the frozen streets of Québec City at night.

A Puffin in Elliston:  July 8, 2019
I waited and waited and waited at the puffin viewing site in Elliston, Newfoundland for a puffin to get close enough for me to really frame it in the shot, and my patience paid off, as this guy eventually came into range.

A Magical Sunrise in Trinity:  July 9, 2019
I just love the magical look of Trinity, Newfoundland at sunrise.

The View of Trinity from Gun Hill:  July 9, 2019
A view of Trinity, Newfoundland from Gun Hill.  The houses down below are so colorful!

L’Île aux Marins at Dusk:  July 10, 2019
I captured this photo of L’Île aux Marins from the ferry as we arrived in Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

Ottawa’s Notre Dame Cathedral:  August 24, 2019
This summer I took a long weekend in the Ottawa area.  The inside of Ottawa’s beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral is a site to see.

West Block at Sunset:  August 24, 2019
Ottawa’s West Block of Parliament can be seen at sunset in this photo, photographed from the Fairmont le Château Laurier.

Fireworks Over Parliament:  August 24, 2019
I caught the last night of Les Grands Feux du Casino du Lac Leamy, set off on the Ottawa river between Ottawa, ON, and Gatineau, Québec.  The fireworks are designed to be viewed from the Gatineau side, but I photographed them from my room at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa.

The Beautiful Lobby of the Fairmont le Château Montebello:  August 25, 2019
The lobby of the Fairmont le Château Montebello in Québec is best viewed from the second level to get the full effect.

That concludes my best of the decade series, but stay tuned for my next post, in which I will share my best photos of 2019!
