Well, 2019 is in the books, so it’s time for my annual Best Of post, where I share my 25 best photos from the year. You can view my best of 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, and 2014. As always, 2019 presented me with a bevy of photographic opportunities, so it was hard to whittle it down to just 25. You may recognize some of these photos from my Best of the Decade series. The Lion Sleeps Tonight: February 19
In February I took a sunny trip to Walt Disney World where the weather was beautiful and every day was magical. The highlight of my trip was getting to photograph this majestic lion on Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Maybe someday I’ll get to photograph a lion in the wild. Until then, I’m quite happy with this photo.

I caught the last night of Les Grands Feux du Casino du Lac Leamy, set off on the Ottawa river between Ottawa, ON, and Gatineau, Québec. The fireworks are designed to be viewed from the Gatineau side, but I photographed them from my room at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa.
