Mares and Foals at Mahoney Eden Manor

I previously blogged here and here about my visits to Mahoney Eden Manor, a thoroughbred breeding farm in Saratoga Springs, NY. Last month I went to photograph the mares and foals turned out in spring. In this post I will share some of my favorite shots.

Mares and foals can be seen beyond the barn.

Nominate looks out from the barn.

Sister Marette and her Collected colt enjoy the sunshine.

All Over the Map’s King for a Day colt.

Qualifying and her King for a Day colt napping peacefully. I made an illustration of this photo.

Miss Munnings and her Always Dreaming colt.

Here are two different illustrations I made from the above photo.

A close up of Miss Munnings’ Always Dreaming colt.

I made an illustration of this photo of All Over the Map and her King for a Day colt. In this case, I like the illustration better than the photo.

I got a lot of shots of Miss Munnings’ colt!

Qualifying and her King for a Day colt graze.

Nominate looks down at her hours old More Than Ready filly. As much as I loved the outdoor photos, this one ended up being my favorite from the shoot.
